All steps to improve the image will undermine quality. Things that will undermine the quality are  

Sharpness. 

Noise 

Contrast 

Exposure - 

Saturation 

Composition 

Colour cast 

Pixilation 

Compression 

Artefacts 

Over cooked 

Choosing 3 of these and explaining what can be done to correct quality are: 

1. Exposure. Exposure is important because it can be detrimental to an image if it is under or overexposed. A way of dealing with this is use a grey card, light meter or histogram. Reasons for poor exposure can be incorrect ISO, shutter speed or aperture.  

2. Bad retouching on Photoshop can create poor images which are overdone. A way around this is practice on Photoshop to create balanced images. 

3. Contract is an important element in photography. Contrast is created through shadow. This can be done by using flash, diffusers, reflectors- firing light into shadowed areas.
